Unprecedented Influx of Private Aircraft Expected for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas
With Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, the city is preparing for an unprecedented influx of up to 1,000 private aircraft, resulting in 3,500 more takeoffs and landings, according to the US Federal Aviation Authority.
The surge in private planes is driven by affluent passengers flying to and from the game, as well as a golf tournament and increased business travel in the area.
The increased air traffic has raised environmental concerns due to higher energy use and emissions, with expectations of 10% surge in private aircraft flights in 2024.
The FAA has heightened security procedures to protect the airspace and implemented special air traffic procedures and flight limitations for Super Bowl LVIII.
