Marriott's Autograph Collection Debuts in Hungary with Dorothea Hotel
The Autograph Collection by Marriott International makes its debut in Hungary with the opening of Dorothea Hotel in Budapest. The hotel, named after Archduchess Maria Dorothea of Austria, is housed in three historic structures in District V, showcasing a blend of neo-renaissance, art nouveau, and modernist architecture.
Featuring 216 rooms and suites with a mix of contemporary and heritage furnishings, Dorothea Hotel also offers a spa, a restaurant and bar in the inner atrium, and an additional café and bar. Renowned chef Dani García is set to launch two more restaurants in 2024, adding to the hotel's culinary offerings.
The collaboration with local historic preservation specialists ensured the preservation of significant features, including a heritage staircase. According to Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President of Marriott International's premium and select brands in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the Dorothea Hotel reflects Budapest's illustrious history with grace and sophistication.
Established in 2010, the Autograph Collection has curated over 290 autonomous hotels, each with a distinct narrative and unique elements of design and hospitality.
