Jetex and Shell Aviation have signed an agreement to bring Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Dubai's premier private terminal. Jetex, a global leader in executive aviation, becomes the first company to offer SAF to clients in the United Arab Emirates. This initiative, in collaboration with Shell Aviation, allows private aircraft owners and operators using Jetex's Dubai terminal to significantly reduce emissions during flight operations.

SAF, a certified and safe drop-in fuel compatible with existing aircraft and infrastructure, can be blended up to 50% with traditional jet fuel, resulting in significantly lower carbon emissions throughout its lifecycle. Compared to regular jet fuel, SAF has the potential to cut lifecycle emissions by up to 80%. The move aligns with the UAE's Year of Sustainability in 2023, reinforcing Jetex's commitment to carbon emission reduction, according to Adel Mardini, Jetex's founder and CEO.

Shell Aviation's General Manager for Asia and the Middle East, Doris Tan, emphasized the importance of the entire aviation value chain working together to reduce emissions. The collaboration with Jetex to introduce SAF capabilities in the Middle East, starting with Dubai World Central, is a significant step to meet the increasing demand for SAF in private aviation.

Jetex's environmental strategy aligns with IATA's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, combining carbon collection, offsetting, and emissions removal technologies. This partnership underscores the urgency to address climate change in aviation, with Jetex taking proactive steps to contribute to a more sustainable future.
